How the car detailing price calculator works

Hours are your time on the vehicle, prep to final wipe-down.

Products, travel and overhead are added to your pay for those hours.

The price is set so your profit margin is what you asked for, rounded up to the nearest $5.

The formula: Price = Real cost ÷ (1 - margin). Real cost = hours × (pay + overhead) + products + travel.

Tips from the trade

  • Time your details for a week. Most detailers underestimate interiors.
  • Ask for photos before mobile jobs, so the condition doesn't surprise you.
  • Raise prices for pet hair and heavy dirt. It's real extra time.

Car detailing price calculator questions

How much should I charge for a full detail?

Many detailers charge roughly $150 to $350 for a full detail depending on size and condition. Your own time and costs decide the right price, which this calculator works from.

Should mobile detailing cost more?

Usually yes. Drive time, fuel, water and generator are real costs. Either add a trip fee or build them into the price.
