Concentrated shampoo looks expensive by the gallon and cheap by the bottle, and both are wrong. What matters is what each groom uses. This tool works it out by size, from your own products and dilution ratios.
Curious what it looks like inside? Here's how cost per groom is figured, step by step. Most owners use it alongside our groom pricing calculator.
What the Grooming Shampoo & Supply Cost Calculator does
- Dilution for any ratio and bottle size, with a quick mix chart
- Cost per mixed ounce for every shampoo, conditioner and spray
- Supply cost per groom for XS to XL dogs and cats
- Average supply cost based on your own size mix
- Monthly and yearly supply budget
- Inventory with grooms left and a reorder list with how many to buy
- Catches common slips, like a ratio typed as 1:16 or a missing container size

Questions
Does it work with ready-to-use products?
Yes. Leave the ratio blank and it's treated as ready to use.
Does it include towels and laundry?
Yes. Add them as a per-groom cost and they're counted in every size.
Is there a blank version?
Yes. Every download has two files: one filled with examples so you can see how everything works, and a blank copy ready for your own business. Your rates and settings come filled in as a starting point, so change them to match yours.
Can I change the formulas?
The gray formula cells are locked so they can't be erased by accident. If you really want to change one, open Review in Excel and choose Unprotect Sheet. There's no password.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Everything works the same.
