How It Works
Recolor Pro, step by step.
From install to a fully recolored site in about ten minutes. Nothing changes for your visitors until you press Apply.
1. Install and activate
In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, and choose the Recolor Pro zip. Activate it and you'll land on its screen under Appearance, Recolor Pro.
2. Run the audit
On the Audit tab, press Scan my site. In about a minute you'll see how many colors you use, which are look-alikes, where text is hard to read, and a consistency score. Download the report if you like.
3. Look at your Color Map
The Colors tab groups every color by the job it does. Click Where to see one outlined on your pages, make look-alikes one color, and choose whether your theme's own color settings update too.
4. Pick a palette
Browse 84 palettes by mood or industry, star your favorites, or open Generate and start from your brand color, your logo or a photo. The preview changes as you click.
5. Fine-tune in Customize
Adjust any of the 8 colors. Each one shows whether it's readable on your background. Save palettes you like so you can come back to them.
6. Run the check
Open Check and press Check my site. Recolor Pro adds your brand color to buttons and links, fixes leftover colors and hard-to-read text, hover and focus included, and shows each page with a check mark.
7. Add your license key and apply
In Settings, paste your license key from your receipt email or My Downloads, then press Apply to my site. Your new colors are live, and popular page caches are cleared for you.
8. Fix anything by hand
On your live site, choose Recolor Pro, Fix a color on this page in the top bar. Click any element to see where its color comes from, then pick its new color.
9. Reuse it and undo any time
Save a Brand Kit to use the same colors on another site. Undo lists every earlier version, and Turn off brings back your original colors instantly.
Good to know
Will it break my theme?
No. Recolor Pro never edits your theme's files. It works on top of them, so turning it off or deleting it brings back your original colors instantly.
Does it work with my theme?
It's built to work with any theme, because it recolors whatever your pages actually load and paint. We test it on Astra, GeneratePress, Kadence, Neve, Blocksy, OceanWP, Hello Elementor and the default WordPress themes, plus Elementor, Beaver Builder and WooCommerce. If a color ever slips through, the self-check or click-to-fix catches it.
What doesn't change?
Colors inside photos and most logos, and content from other sites like a YouTube player, Google Maps or a booking widget. Those come from outside your site. Everything your site itself draws can change.
Will my text stay readable?
Yes. The self-check measures the contrast of every piece of text against what's behind it and fixes anything that drops below the usual readability standard.
Can I try it before it goes live?
Yes. Preview everything first. Nothing changes for visitors until you press Apply, and local and staging sites work without using up a license.
Is it a subscription?
No. One payment, and you get every future version free, delivered right inside WordPress.
What do I need?
WordPress 6.2 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. That's nearly every host today.
What does the audit tell me?
How many colors your site really uses, which ones are look-alikes that should be one color, where text is hard to read, and which colors appear on only one page. You get a consistency score and a report you can download or send to a client.
Does it change my theme's color settings?
Only if you want it to. Turn it on and your theme's and page builder's own color pickers show your new palette. Turn Recolor Pro off and the original colors go back, and only the colors. Anything else you changed in your theme stays.
Can I upgrade to more sites later?
Yes. In My Downloads, upgrade your key to 5 or unlimited sites and pay only the difference. You keep the same key.
I build sites for clients. What helps me?
Brand Kits save a client's colors, dark mode and protected logo colors, so you can use them on every one of their sites. The Unlimited plan adds white label: your agency's name in the menu and on audit reports.
Does it slow my site down?
Hardly at all. Recolored stylesheets are made once and saved as plain files, and the new colors are a short block of CSS variables.
